Meet the Team at Clermont Veterinary Surgery

Nurses

Amanda Shannon

Position: Practice Manager

Qualifications: Certificate 4 in Vet Nursing

Amanda has not only been a greatly valued and appreciated member of the Clermont Vet Surgery team since 1999, but she also has the unique ability to effectively communicate with Alan without having to say a word at all!  Amanda’s local knowledge, together with her vet nurse and rural experience make her an integral asset to the clinic and its clients and she plays a vital role as practice manager. She enjoys all aspects of nursing but find particularly rewarding the reviving of puppies after a caesarean and the satisfaction of a tidy clip or groom job (as much as dog hair makes her sneeze!)  Just in case she doesn’t get enough experience at the vet surgery, Amanda, her husband and two gorgeous kids have a plethora of horses, dogs, cats, chooks, birds and the odd poddy calf or goat!

Meg Grogan

Position: Veterinary Nurse

Qualifications: Training towards Certificate 4 in Veterinary Nursing

Meg joined us in July 2014 while she was still at school and was a valuable asset helping us out on Saturday mornings and school holidays. When she graduated Capella High school end of 2016 we offered her a full time position and we were delighted when she accepted! Meg is now studying her Certificate IV in veterinary nursing. She travels daily back and forward from Capella where she  has chickens and two miniature horses: “Charlie” a stallion and “Grace” a mare. Meg can often be found on a weekend at community markets in the district where she sells beautiful wooden roses with her family.

Kayla Fielder

Position: Veterinary Nurse

Qualifications: Training towards Certificate 4 in Veterinary Nursing

Kayla joined the Clermont Veterinary team in April 2016. Growing up on a cattle property "Oakatokes" north east of Aramac, her passion for working with animals started at a very early age. Kayla enjoys working with all animals but equine nursing is where her true talent and love lies. Kayla is the dedicated equine nurse and Dr Caroline's offsider and keeps the stables running smoothly and efficiently. When Kayla isn't at the clinic she's usually at home trying to complete her veterinary nursing studies as soon as possible. Kayla enjoys competing in campdrafting on her two favourite mares "Oaky" and "O'Mara", skiing and running with her super cute mini foxie "Ellie" in her spare time.

Jessica White

Position: Veterinary Nurse

Qualifications: Certificate 2 in Animal Studies. Training towards Certificate 4 in Veterinary Nursing

Jess is our newest recruit joining us in January 2017 and hails from "Athelstane" station outside Winton. She has always been keen to work in the veterinary industry and completed a traineeship at a vet clinic while she was at boarding school in Townsville. The apple of Jess's eye is her crazy but lovable wire haired Jack Russell dog called Dusty. When not nursing, Jess loves to socialise with friends and hang out with her brothers.

Lexie Titmarsh

Position: Veterinary Nurse

Qualifications: Training towards Certificate 4 in Veterinary Nursing

Lexie is our most recent addition at the Clermont Vet Surgery, making the move from Emerald in January 2018. She brings with her three valuable years of veterinary nursing experience and is currently studying towards her certificate four in vet nursing. Lexie has quite a few much loved pets including her two horses "Jimbob" and "Sabrina", her two dogs "Boofa" and "Sally" and her two cats "Mo" and "Munro". When not at the clinic, Lexie can be found studying for her nursing certificate or riding her horses.

Bailey Richardson

Position: Part-time Veterinary Nurse

Qualifications: Still at school

Bailey is a local girl currently in high school at Clermont State High and helps us out on weekends and school holidays. She is a keen horserider and enjoys competing at pony club and bush sports. Her horse handling skills certainly come in very handy at the vet surgery. Bailey wishes to pursue a career within the veterinary industry when she finishes school.
